Purpose of the Réseau des services pour victimes de violence du N.-B.
The vision of the RSVVNB is a society free of violence. Therefore, our mission is to work towards the elimination of violence in our communities.
History of the Réseau des services pour victimes de violence du N.-B.
The Réseau was created because of a desire by shelters in New Brunswick to work together over 15 years ago. As a result, rural and francophone shelters formed a separate group to better address the issues of abused women living in rural, francophone, and bilingual areas. In November 2018, the Réseau formally incorporated as a non-profit organization under the name “Réseau des services pour victimes de violence du Nouveau-Brunswick Inc.” and its members established a governance structure to apply for funding from the Government of Canada under the banner “Femmes et Égalité des Genres.”
The organization now wishes to ensure its sustainability, improve the working conditions of its members’ employees, and better defend the rights of victims of intimate partner violence.
